Célou Bonnet

Equestrian Sculptures

null

Born in Carpentras, France, Célou Bonnet was greatly influenced by her surroundings. Her childhood was spent near her grandfather, a classically trained artist. Then her adolescence was spent around horses. She became an expert rider and when the stable she worked for relocated to the US, she made her home in New York. In 1984 she finally realized her artistic destiny – to create sculpture in bronze. “There is something in the movement of horses that can only be expressed in the form of an impression. It is that ephemeral moment, when we catch a glimpse of their spirit, that I am trying to express in my art.” Her home of Fallbrook, California’s village square proudly displays a beautiful bronze titled “Bonjour.”
